Hello there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site? I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

Hi Hilton, I am using a managed WP platform, and have so far not experienced issues – but I have heard that using plugins makes the site much more vulnerable. There are providers out there, and potentially also additional services at WP for wider security. I don’t have a ready list available. Usually when in doubt, I Google for the top 10 web site and hosting platforms. 🙂

Hi Treva, You can find some from the WP plugins if you are using the more expensive versions that allow it. It does have other limitations then, like people being able to follow you the same way. Otherwise, you might need a different host for the website to insert plugins.

Many thanks! I browsed around for a while to collect them from a number of sites, so I owe my thanks to other collectors. However, as these are not so easy to find, I thought I’d create a special place for the quotes.

HI Bettina, thank you for your feedback! As you may now, WP doesn’t let you use SEO and plugins unless the user has a business license, so I take a hit in the ranking. This has been more an innovation site for me to keep the focus on writing – and perhaps, later on, launch something else with a service provider that is not that expensive for tools. Always open to ideas if you know of good solutions. Thanks for coming by and offering ideas!

Cool blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A design like yours with a few simple tweeks would really make my blog shine. Please let me know where you got your theme. Thanks

Thank you, Dante. I used one of the WP artist templates as the basis. It allows a certain amount of changes, but not very much. The intent is to just keep this as a blog site. I have a domain of my own stashed away for later use if I get to that point again. Agree, it’s not perfect and unfortunately changing the layout wipes all previous data away, so this is it for now :).
