Favorite. If nature survives the ice – shouldn’t we?

Nuuksio National Park. Finland.

“There is the green – persistently peeking through layers of frozen water. I am cold, my camera is heavy. And yet, if small leaves can overcome this challenge of winter, so should I.” ~ Maria Lehtman

These are my favorite images and moments. Nature still and moving at the same time. Autumn, spring, winter – all mingled up in the same odd scene, coexisting in what should be a passing.

Capturing the frozen greenery is the most difficult task in timing, weather conditions etc. They are a gift. This was one of the toughest years so far. I was lucky to find so many rare images from nature during the few times I actually could venture outside, and have the strength to haul my Nikon with me.

At the end – there is only you, and your persistence. Nature will take care her own. All of us in our turn, in whatever role has been set for us to carry out.

“There are things about ourselves that we need to get rid of; there are things we need to change. But at the same time, we do not need to be too desperate, too ruthless, too combative. Along the way to usefulness and happiness, many of those things will change themselves, and the others can be worked on as we go. The first thing we need to do is recognize and trust our own Inner Nature, and not lose sight of it.”
― Benjamin HoffThe Tao of Pooh.”

Wishing you all a Peaceful Christmas and Happy New Year!
